Diets don't work


You are wasting your money if you are paying for diet clubs, pills, potions or shakes in the belief that these are going to help you lose weight and keep it off. Only 10% of people who go to a diet in this way keep the weight off for LIFE.


Without fail all of my clients who come to me for help with weight loss have bought into the ideal that a diet club, pill or shake has convinced them is the answer to all their problems. Don’t get me wrong some will have seen results, but all of them have put the weight back on (and more) and are now in the land of the yoyo dieter.


The truth is these things just don’t work, and I’m going to tell you why:


  • Restrictive diets set you up for failure in the long run as they are just not sustainable, put it this way if you can’t see yourself following the plan every day for the rest of your life, it will not work. FACT


  • Ask yourself why there needs to be more than one type of diet offered by so many different companies. The formula for losing weight is a scientific one based on how our bodies work. No one needs to pay to stand on some scales and be weighed every week to do this.


  • Yoyo dieting is real and dangerous. Very restrictive diets will work in the short term, but this will damage your metabolism, liver function and can lead to diabetes when the pancreas can no longer function correctly.


  • This is the big one. A well-known diet club spends in excess of £40 million a year on advertising to keep people going back. They don’t teach you about nutrition, how your body works, how your mindset can impact your success or address the reasons why you haven’t succeeded before. Why would they? They won’t make any money if you don’t keep going back.


You can probably tell I’m really passionate about this because I was sucked into this ideal when I was younger and as a Nutritional Therapist, I can now see how wrong this all is, but there is another way :)
